To guests with current reservations.
We know many of you are interested in your reservations for the 2020 season, so we met this week to discuss plans for the upcoming opening. We recognized that Sea View would need to operate very differently after thoroughly considering the measures necessary to protect the health and safety of our staff and guests. We considered how we would manage social distancing in the common areas, provide meal service, and offer shared amenities for guests occupying the inn from all over the country. After considering multiple options for opening with our established bookings, we realized that there was no conceivable arrangement that would mitigate all potential health hazards inherent in our daily operation. Therefore, we have decided to cancel all individual reservations and open Sea View to groups only for the 2020 season. Sea View Inn will operate as a rental house for June – September 2020. We did not take this decision lightly and gave it much deliberation before arriving at this decision. We understand many of you will be disappointed, but we believe this is the right decision for this unique set of circumstances.
Sea View Inn may be rented on a weekly basis for up to 16 people (and a max of 20 for an additional fee) and will include:
– 8 ocean front rooms and 4 Cottage (air conditioned) rooms
– Full breakfast served by our staff each day
– Daily housekeeping service
– Beach chairs and umbrellas
– Private beach access
– Private creek dock for crabbing, kayaking, and cocktailing
– On-duty manager
There are many restaurants, takeout, and food delivery options available in Pawleys for lunch and supper. We would be happy to assist you with suggestions and recommendations.
Over the next few days, we will be canceling reservations and pushing them forward to the corresponding time frame and room for 2021. We will also transfer your deposit to your 2021 reservation. If you would like to cancel without rebooking, or prefer to receive a refund, just let us know.
Lastly if you are interested in booking the Inn as your beach house for this summer or fall Kipp can provide more details on rates and availability.
We will miss everyone and look forward to the 2021 season.
Sassy, Brian, and Kipp
